Re: Christmas Traditionalists...

[ Edited ]

I love the style of this home!  The beautiful paneled wall draws the eye in to the white fire place surround and the unusual dark mirror.  The red poinsettia adds life to the area.  I don't care for the use of the amaryillis; their stem is too long and better suited to a tall vase.  I also think the pine cones on the mantle fall are too dark.  Some large reindeer would be beautiful.

The arrangement is quite pretty with the red berries.  I think the flower is misplaced here also.

I love the kitchen.  The light from the large windows into the white kitchen is so crisp and bright.

Love the bright sitting area and the wonderful windows in the den?  The apples are a wonderful variety.  The size of the wreath on the windows is perfect; I would like a red cast; my computer is showing a wreath that looks rather fall.

Many thanks for all of these wonderful posts!

I love the outside of the home very much.

My favorites are the kitchen and the second living area.

Like the medieval castle front door with the hardware that looks like a sword, the window that is shaped like a shield, and the stonework that frames the door.  The rest of the house is very nice too.

Edited to add:

Also like the stained glass window on the front door of the knight helmet and shield.  And the little jingle bell tree door knob hanger.

I love the exterior.  I'm not much on the design of the interior of the house but I do love the Christmas decor....especially those huge pinecones and the wreath with the red berries on the front door.

The natural greens draped over the top of the stove would be an issue if the homeowners cooked. Greens shed over the course of the season and needles would end up falling into whatever you were cooking. Other than that, I like the look.

Re: Christmas Traditionalists...

This home was decorated for Christmas by a floral designer, who used all natural materials as decor. I like that. I like that there isn't an overwhelming display of kitsch and yet the house looks festive and seasonal.

@ECBG That wreath in the second pictured sitting area looks to me as though it might be either dried magnolia leaves or perhaps they've been sprayed. It's really hard to tell. Anyway, the only seasonal nods in the portion of this handsome room that we can see, anyway, appear to be the sprig of berries on the coffee table and what appears to be a lovely multi-color poinsettia in the right corner. Do wish we saw more of this room. I feel certain there's a mantel in there somewhere. Woman Wink

This is so pretty. There is nothing that can compare to fresh greenery when decorating  for Christmas.

This home reminds me of my previous neighborhood in Bucks County Pennsylvania. The Holiday House Tour had several Historic homes to visit and they looked and were decorated much like this one.

My DD and I still go on the tour but unfortunately we missed it this year.
