Ceramic Tile vs. Porcelain Tile

We're planning a few projects around the house. I think I've decide on quartz countertops so now to the floors . . . stopped in a store yesterday . . . ceramic vs. porcelain. For smaller areas . . . like bathrooms, large 20" or 16" or 12" . . . lady said 20" makes smaller areas actually look larger. My husband thinks we should try laying the tiles ourselves. Yikes. I guess we could try starting with the kids bathroom and see how it goes. How hard can it be?
