Has anyone had Costco do wall to wall carpeting for them? If so, how was the job done, are you happy, prices better than B&M stores, any pressure by their salespeople?  Thanks for any info you can provide.

Costco doesn't do the carpeting - but refers it out to a third party. Any problems, Costco backs it.

I've had other services done that were Costco replated- a complete HVAC system. Plus I bought 2 cars with their auto buying service!  All were smooth purchases. The HVAC esimate was competitive (maybe a couple hundred less), the 3rd party company had rave reviews on Angie's List - and  I even got an $800 costco gift card!!

A suggestion: if you purchaae the carpeting, up your membership to executive. You'll get a nice rebate check at the end of the year! When I bought my HVAC system I changed my membership to executive for just the month it was installed!!!! It cost  a couple dollars to make the change and I got around  $100-125 back.

Re: Carpeting Done By Costco

I only have carpeting in my bedrooms, wih ceramic tile in all other areas of my home, but I had Costco replace the carpeting in the bedrooms in 2008.  I was pleased with the carpeting, padding & the job the install guys contracted by Costco did.  I don't know if this is still true, but the padding they used will not absorb any liquid, so if something is spilled  or pet has an accident on the carpet, it's only in the carpet & doesn't sink into the padding.

Thanks for the answers.  One more question though.  Will the technicians move furniture and at what cost.  We're move than will to pay as we are unable to move it ourselves.

The installers moved the furniture at no extra cost, but not sure if that's normal & since mine was done back in 2008, I just don't remember.  I did empty the floors of the closets in each bedroom & took out the drawers in the furniture & lamps, etc off of the tops to make it lighter & that was a job in & of itself!
