Carpet in bathrooms

The thread on Tova selling her home got me thinking. After reading the article and looking at the photos, what do you all think about carpeting in bathrooms?

Personally, it creeps me out. Carpet would get wet and I can't see it ever being truly clean or mold/mildew free. And what happens if the toilet overflows? I mean, come on, everyone's had that happen once in their life.

My mom has carpet in both of her bathrooms, and I just can't get over the ick factor every time I'm in a carpeted bathroom.
