Candles and Candle Holders

[ Edited ]

Back in the 1990's, I had a dining table with a glass top (never again). We rarely used that table, so I put together a collection of 40+ candle holders on it, mostly crystal. I packed them away when I got got a new dining set

.

I still keep out a large candelabra that has 2 bud vases on it, a tall single candle holder with crystal drops, & a pair of gold leaf sconces with crystal drops from Italy my mom gave me. She also gave me a pair of electric gold leaf sconces with ceramic roses from Italy, but I didn't trust the wiring.

Today, I was just looking at these candles & holders at Terrain and Anthropologie...

@Desert Lily    Some of those candles (first pictures) are so beautiful, unique and probably very expensive, I wouldn't dare to burn them.  All of your photos show very unusual pieces.

You ought to get some of yours out and use them.  Have them rewired if necessary and have an electrician install them.

Very, very pretty.  I love Terrain.

I love candle holders.  a few Christmases ago, I was gifted these candle sticks which are handmade in wrought iron from a Guild artist at the Folk Art Center.

They are still available.

Very fun!  I esp. love the simple, polished round brass sconce, the adorable whimsical brass animal candlesticks, and the soft, colored glass ones

Very little is as moody and romantic as taper candles, and beautiful holders such as you have pictured.

Right now I have my old wooden barley twist candlestick(s),  and my black iron candlesticks out for fall.  Plus a pair of branched, vintage Art Deco clear glass candlesticks with harvest orange and yellow beeswax candles in them.

Re: Candles and Candle Holders

@Desert Lily I kind of like #1, 13 and 14.

Back in the 70's my mother bought me a chrystal and silver compote with the silver stand being in the shape of an angel and 2 chrystal and silver candle holders with chrystal drops for the house we built with the first elegant dining room I had.

No longer have that house and the one we built now does not have an actual dining room.  Those items are still treasured and now reside in my china cabinet on display.  The silver has tarnished to a darker silver but I think I like that better than the bright silver.
