My niece gave me a candle warmer crock for Christmas last year. At first I placed a full size candle in it. Recently, when my other regular candles burn down to within less than an inch and the wick will no longer light, I put about a 1/4 cup of water in it and place in the microwave til it softens. I then remove the candle in pieces and add it to the warmer. The fragrance intermingles with what's already there and gives a great fragrance.
Anyone else do this? If not, I provide the suggestion. To my way of thinking it's a lot better than throwing away all the remaining wax.
