@Oznell

I just saw a video by interior designer Lisa Holt of Lisa Holt Design.

She went from the first furniture and home styles and showed how designers pulled characteristics from those design periods into the next design period naming the main designers and showing the influence.

The segment is "Home Decor Ideas That Will Blow Your Mind".

I never had the time to go that deep with my students.

I like this designer a lot.  She has amazing resources and works in the field too.

Please let me know your thoughts if you watch.

Re: Calling Oznell 2/16/2024

@ECBG ,  I like her and used to watch a number of her videos.  Her presentation was just a wee bit "high energy" for me.  (No reflection on her--  just personal preference on my part for more low-key presentation.)  But, a few months ago, I saw one and was pleasantly surprised, it was *much* more 'toned down'.

So I'm eager to watch the one you suggest!   Totally agree, she is very knowledgeable, deeply researched and a valuable resource.  I'll watch at my earliest opportunity and report back!

Ha, @ECBG ,  I might have spoken too soon, this video does seem a bit excitable.  But, not as much as some past ones, believe it or not!

I love the fact that she gives proper due to the all the movements toward modernism, Wiener Werkstatte, and especially the Bauhaus,  really revolutionary.   Made all that came later, possible.

I always lean traditional in my impulses, but the designs that appeal to me most, have at least a few other notes in their repertoire.  Just makes it more interesting to me--Art Deco, Art Moderne, even Brutalism.   That's why I think of myself as hopelessly eclectic...

Thanks for the alert to a fun video!

No, I just like the shape. I can't "see" it.
