COMFORTABLE DELAWARE BEACH HOUSE

Felt the need for at least one more beach house, before the season winds down!  This one strikes me as spacious and really, to me, would be so luxurious for year round, not just warm weather living.  That's why my biggest objection would be the tile floors-- I prefer wood, especially if I'm going to be there in February!

The owner is an up and coming young male designer, and it does have a more masculine, less "adorned" or frilly feeling to me than some others.  I appreciate that he's willing to go with a warmer palette than some of the rather blindingly white beach houses that are so ubiquitous now.  Makes a nice change.

This corner, he says, acts as a sunroom for the lush plants:

Dining there would be so pleasant:

The owner said how much he values the blue and white china he inherited from one grandmother;  here he houses it on a cupboard inherited from his other grandmother!  It's those little personal touches I look for.  Love the old books and shells mixed in, and especially that old sea faring painting above the curio:

This guest bedroom has a zingy feeling for me!  The yellow walls are uplifting, and all the clean graphics are lively.

That "The Endless Summer" framed poster seems to be as much of a cult favorite now as the movie that it advertized!

The owner said he loves sea grass, baskets, all things woven-- the craftsmanship of them appeals to him.  You can see that in the master bedroom, with that beautifully textured bed frame...

He also said that this little attic hideaway, one of the smallest rooms in the house, is his favorite.  I can see it would be a nice retreat for a rainy day at the shore.

I'm always attracted to little corners like this within a room.  This desk allows the room to function as a tucked-away study, and I love the contrast of the woven chair with the smooth metal desk:

I like that it has a warmer, more inviting feeling than a lot of others that are popular lately.

I don't love the bedrooms, but the public spaces are fabulous!

Too pale and boring for me.  I need color.
