Aside from the very weird shape of the lamps, I think it works, and I kind of like it.

From my eye perspective, the scale of the lamps and artwork are off, and too big for the furniture piece. The dresser wood is nice, and would be more the focus. The large lamps and art take away the focus. All in all, too much, too busy ( for me). Lol! But it's fun to see these things, thanks Lola!

The scale of the room seems to work well. However, I would change the color of the shade and perhaps pick a color in the artwork. Maybe a gold would work better for the shade. Shades are too dark IMO.
I have seen a lot of burl pieces at art shows. They're beautiful whether a jewelry box or coffee table or chest of drawers, etc.

Looks like just a collection of stuff that doesn't really go together. Why do you need so much lamp light in one space on top of that too small cabinet? I also don't hink that the painting goes with the burled wood of the cabinet, a delicate filigree gold mirror would be much prettier. And if you need a lamp, maybe just one but not one of those. Also the rug doesn't go with any of it either.
I like all the items but not together.

I think the picture is slightly too large for this vignette. I don't think it helps matters that I find it ugly either! While I neither love nor hate the lamps, I find they're competing with the large artpiece for attention especially since the picture is bottom heavy. I would probably find a more sleek design and something slightly smaller for the lamps.

I find this to be in perfect balance, i.e. groups of three. Lamps and picture are a group of three and good color harmony. Books and vases - group of three of different sizes and heights and colors in harmony with picture and lamps. Three circle door/drawer handles - group of three evenly spaced. Chest color in harmony with picture colors.
All in all, although I don't really like the individual items, they are in balance and harmony.

I see reasonable symmetry and balance and while I like burled wood a lot, I don't much like any of these elements, though I could make the credenza work, and possibly even the art work, but the latter in a different setting.

I agree. The lamp bases throw the balance off.

For me, it's over balanced and busy, with the lamps creating a heavy, bookends look. All my brain sees is the huge lamps. I have to deliberately make my eye travel to the rest.
I'd start over, with maybe only one lamp, or, at least, change those blue shades to white and let the artwork be the star. I'm for seeking balance, but not this type of precision balance.
For me, sizes are all off here and colors are fighting with each other for attention.

I guess the balance is okay, but I find it not pretty at all.
