I had a Bosch years ago, when I lived in England and loved it.  Then I made the mistake, when I moved back here, of listening to the sales guy when we bought appliances for our new house and went with a Maytag.  Piece of junk.

The rinse-aid dispenser stopped working after only a year or so and they could never figure out how to fix it, so we lived without it, until the stupid thing died completely after 7 years.

Bought another Bosch to replace it (10 years now) and haven't regretted it for a second.  I know it takes 2 hours to run a cycle, but I just load it up, swtich it on and let it run.  The reason the cycles are longer is because it uses less water under pressure, so is energy efficient.  It's quiet and does a great job.  It comes on, says "auto-select" and, if I want something different, I just press a button.  It's not hard.

I guess mine is to fancy and that's why I'm having  trouble to get it set to do what I want it to do each and every time without going thru all the operations.

my electric bill is high enough that I don't need to leave it on 'auto' and let it run for 2 and a half hrs. when it can do the same thing in one hr.

Water, I don't have to worry about I'm on water well. Don't have a bill.

I'm not sure I could handle a 2.5 hours dishwashing cycle.

It's just me and I only run my dishwasher 1-2x a week, so I wash everything before I put it in there (sometimes I use things twice, like if I need a fork while I'm cooking or a spoon just to stir something for a second).

I use the quick wash setting 99% of the time.  I think it's 20 minutes, but I've never timed it.

Re: Bosch dishwashers

I have had mine for three years. I have never used the two hour cycle, always use the 30 minute cycle. Dishes have always come out clean.

@SharkE after reading your posts maybe something is wrong with your machine. Keep us posted.

@SharkE, my Bosch dishwasher is almost 13 years old.  Love it.  I was used to shorter cycles when I bought it.  I found their customer service excellent. Even though it has a longer cycle, it is the most energy efficient dishwasher on the market.  LM

yeah, think I'm gonna keep  it. last nite it did exactly what I told it to do.

I reset the alert done signal to 'high' just isn't very loud, but, I set it to the highest level.

gonna use it here again in a minute and see if it remembers 'speed 60' setting then I'll just have to do

On

click on speed 60

start

if I can accomplish that I'll bow before it. LOL

yeah, I like the stainless steel interior very shiny and clean looking. My whole kitchen is stainless. Now, it's outdated LOL That's OK I like it still. I couldn't find nothing online bad, bad about them. sure, there were minor annoyances people griped about, but , for my 924 bucks taxes, installation, delivery, haul off of old unit included.  I was surprised Best Buy charges 15 to haul it off, but, compared to me hiring somebody to haul it off , etc. I paid them to do it.

fifteen bucks in today's money is a McDonald's meal.

All I ask is value for my money, dependability, ease of use. I like that little red spotlight on the floor LOL When it goes off the bell sounds. Mine is the 500 series and doesn't have the condensation heat option. The 800 does for another couple of hundred.  I use Finish rinse aid and the decibel level for mine is 44 and the more expensive is 42. Nothing that biggie that made me want to shell out another 200. I just wanted a quiet unit compared to the cheapies that decibel level is 55 and up. Be hard to talk on the phone, listen to your TV, etc. Man at Best buy told me some run to 2200, but, I believe their more commercial trade.
