This is the refrigerator that we have in stainless, but it comes in black - love it! There is an ice water dispenser in the hinge that we use all the time. Ice maker in the bottom freezer. This fridge comes in several sizes - hope this helps.

OP Just a question...why are you picking black appliances? Just curious. You are remodeling your kitchen and it just sounds like you are picking ""old"" choices. Its up to you though. If thats the look you want then go for it. But it just seems to me that your brand new kitchen won't really look new when you are done with it. Just an observation. Enjoy your remodel!

i totally disagree with this because even with all the new appliances coming out now they STILL give you the choice of black for the color if you want it. its stll a popular choice. i am dreaming of the day when i can get the black front loading washing and dryer pair!!!! then my vision will be complete since my laundry room is off the kitchen. i love the front loaders we have now but since they are still fairly new - and white! - it will be a little longer before we replace them. le sigh.

i have seen several DIY blogs where someone painted their washer/dryer so if my OCD get the best of me before replacing them i just might have to do this!

Last time out we chose a black Samsung - fridge on top, freezer drawer on bottom. We did not get the ice dispenser in the door because the interior components took up too much space inside. Never liked them anyway. We had a side by side once and hated it. The freezer side was just not wide enough for many things, and the fridge side seemed small also.

The front is smooth - sides and top are textured. Works out very very well. We could not be happier with our choice.

Another vote for a black Samsung! We have the 26 cu. ft. French door (w/o ice dispenser in the door.) I agree with Perkup about a dispenser taking up too much space. We've had ours for about a year - NO complaints. LOVE it.

Happy Shopping!

Our old fridge was a black textured one and when we replaced it, we went with a Samsung French door (it does have water & ice in door) but it is smooth. Love it. And it quite frankly is easier to clean than the textured one. Spray a little glass cleaner on and all smudges gone! Seemed like it took lots more elbow grease on the textured surface.

we recently bought an LG french door, freezer on the bottom black refrig. NO in door ice or water. Our doors are smooth I do not know is textured is available, sorry.

The texture will help hide finger prints but is more difficult to keep clean.

THINGS TO CONSIDER:

Black is often a special order,so allow extra time and is MORE expensive than SS .

We purchased from HH Gregg and it was the WORST decision ever! I would have paid more to not have to deal with them. We ended up waiting 12 weeks for our refrig. and I was informed it was in when the delivery guys called to say they would be at my house in 20 minutes to delivery it!!!! Unfort. we were 3 hours away out of town.
