I love Christmas and always go overboard. No one here would know anything about that, right?! ![]()
Some years I put up three or even four trees and this one from last year is huge. It took me all day to decorate it. I can't decide about taking it from the attic or not. For some reason, I am just not 'feeling it' this year. Perhaps I am worn out from cooking....that could be it. ![]()
Do you ever do this? Do you have a hard time....at times.....deciding whether to put up a tree(s) or not?
Just wondering. Would love your thoughts to help me gain some perspective.

Last year I did a tree and decorations for the first time in several years. This year it's probably not happening because I too don't want to go through the up and down again.
If you choose not to, you'll be in good company. I'm not feeling it, at least right now, either.
Although that room and your decor is GORGEOUS!!

I only put up one tree--it's just a 6.5 footer--and I can't imagine not doing it. If you don't "feel it" this year, just don't do it...or wait a couple of days, maybe you won't be so tired.
Your tree is beautiful! I can't even imagine taking all day to decorate one tree...it only takes me a couple of hours to do the little decorating I do!!!

I also go overboard, but I would put up the tree. It's gorgeous by the way. There will come a time in life when we just can't do it any more. I just finished decorating the house. I do every room. I have 4 trees. They are up but I haven't decorated them yet. I am 65 and boy what I accomplished so far tired me out. I am healthy as can be but I do feel I am slowing up a bit. So like I said, I am in the mind set to do it while I can. The Christmas Spirit will visit you soon and you will so wish you had that stunning tree up. If you decide not to, that's OK to. I have been there, but I always end up putting everything out.

what is wrong with just doing 1 tree.? You can really only look at one at a time :-)
I grew up with just one tree, when I got married to a Jew the first year we were married I didn't have a tree, and I never missed it.
Now xx years later, I am actually relieved I don't have to get involved with all of this.

Like you I'm not feeling it either. I put up 3 trees and last night I brought out my big white one for the entry. I'm just going bit by bit until I get it done. I'm afraid if I stop I will not do it again. I'm saw this mother in law. It hasn't snowed here yet. When it snows I think I will feel better. It's suppose to snow here tomorrow. Yea!

Is it possible that you just need a change? You could just want to do something different from what you usually do. Change things up a bit or a bunch!

I've been on the fence this year! I really want a big beautiful tree BUT
1) where to store it & all the extra decorations?
2) I need to go out & buy enough ornaments, etc. to decorate😲
3) why do I need a big tree?
4) do I want to spend the $$ on it (the one I loved is $259!)
These are the arguments I'm having in my head! I have a 5' (although haven't put a tree up in several years).
I got some great ideas regarding doing the tree from Valerie & Alberti yesterday. I am leaning towards keeping my small tree putting on table & utilizing what I have. Dressing it up with picks, ribbon, etc.
Trying to do a "less is more" decorating this year. I don't want to overdue then it's too much & It will look cluttered.

Your tree is lovely and I bet your friends and family enjoy it as do you and your husband. I say put it up slowly..put the tree up one day and let it fall (that's what I do) and then take 2 days to decorate it. There's no rush.
As we get older many of us stop doing things we enjoy doing because it takes longer and we just don't have the energy that we had when we were younger. I have a 9' tree and my family loves it. My husband now has to help me put it up. I use to decorate the entire house inside and out from top to bottom in 1 day...those days are long gone but I want to stay young at heart and have the Christmas Spirit so I will do as much as I can each holiday season...for myself and my family...it makes my heart happy.

I felt that way last year. For a lot of reasons, I just couldn't bring myself to get some of the harder-to-access decor out of storage. I think it's okay to pull back a little some years.
