I think they did an excellent job.  Do I love everything about the "after"? No.  But it is a vast improvement and it looks great.

Re: Before & After Kitchen

[ Edited ]

Opening up the wall helped a lot. I like the white kitchen. I'd get chairs and barstools that were different in height only (Miss match matchy) and in a color I could use as an accent in the kitchen.

Removing the wall opens up the space and brings in light which is an improvement.  I have white cabinets and they are not hard to maintain and yes, I do cook a lot as well as entertain but I clean as I go, always have.  The stools stick out like a sore thumb and relates to nothing as well as being right on top of the dinning table.  I do not care for the  dark table and the light above the table looks to be too large for the size table used.  I would change out the table to a longer table in a lighter tone or glass so you would be able to see through it as a trick to the eye, so it would not be a "lump" sitting there.  Right now, looking at the after photo, it appears that the area where the wall was removed is small.  Everything crowded together.  The chairs seem to be leather or a vinyl.

I am sure it works for them and they are very pleased with the outcome............and that's what really matters.

Definitely an improvement.

Overall I like it, however I would put in different stools with highbacks and also different color chairs........Otherwise very pretty! Yes, white kitchens are very "in" every time I watch House Hunters or any type of home show on HGTV they all want white kitchens!!!

The after is better but, overall, it's too light & white for me.  It needs at little color/contrast.

I like it but would have a larger table and different stools.

In this case, the removal of the wall was a welcome improvement.  I do think @eddyandme  was right in noting that the "new" kitchen exudes a more subdued traditional air, while the dining area is all bright and contemporary. Even the "whites" are very different.

Because they are now open to each other, the abrupt difference seems a bit jarring.

The after is a huge improvement. I love that the new cabinets go all the way up.

I always lol a little when I read that some would never choose white cabinets because they would show every speck of grease.  Isn't that a good thing?  Like was said here, you need to keep on top of an all-white kitchen.  But if you clean up after cooking, it isn't a big deal to me.

I think just changing the paint color made a difference.
