Do you prefer solid or printed bedspreads?
I prefer solid bedspreads in neutral colors. I add pops of color, pattern, and texture with assorted decorative pillows and a throw at the foot of the bed.
I grew up with printed bedspreads. My childhood and teen bedspread had huge florals in green, yellow, and orange. It was very 1970s groovy. After that I had one that had a subtle green floral print. At one time we had a bluish stripe bedspread on the guest bed. I liked them all at the time.
Now, every bedspread is a solid color. It’s rather strange, because I love prints in my clothing. I did an Internet search for printed bedspreads, and I couldn’t really find anything that I liked. I guess my tastes have just changed. I think part of it might be that using a print on such a large item might just be too much for me now.

Solid is more versatile. You can add printed throws or pillows easily.

I like both and it also depends on the room. I like to use solids and then accessorize with printed throw pillows and curtains. If I use a print bedspread it is a soft print, not something that has huge flowers or design for example.

Previously I used solid spreads and patterned sheets and pillowcases. Recently changed spread/comforter when we painted bedroom a soothing green/gray color; neutral sage. Found a comforter from Thatch Home - cream background, subtle sage and gray wildflowers like painted watercolor. Solid gray sheets and pillowcases. I'm loving it. Different colors than I've used before.

The only thing I ever bought in a neutral color was carpet. I like lots of color, texture and prints. I like printed bedspreads or comforters but in abstract or very contemporary designs, never florals.

I agree it depends on the room but I tend to prefer printed comforters. In the master I have a navy upholstered head board and matching bed skirt with a blue print comforter. The room is painted beige. It oldest DD room there is a cobalt blue print comforter that matched the accent tile in her bathroom and accent walls in her bedroom. In youngest DD room, she recently wanted her bedroom painted white and has a white comforter with colorful blankets and throw pillows.

I like both, and own one of each, because my husband likes them.
