Re: Bedroom with Waterfront View

Talk about a calm environment, this is it.  The room and view are absolutely lovely and very appealing.  I love the chaise lounge by the window, my favorite piece of furniture. I would just add a couple of pieces of art work on the walls.

That is my precious Wilma. She passed away a few years ago.

A water view from my bedroom has always been on the wishlist.

Beautiful.  I don't care for the print on the wall.

Re: Bedroom with Waterfront View

The half of the room with the bed just seems utilitarian.  But you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming to get off the chaise lounge with the nirvana of the waterfront.

I like it but man, that four poster bed hardly fits with the low ceiling, at least it looks low to me.

Re: Bedroom with Waterfront View

May look pretty; however, there are many disadvantages of living near water:

General maintenance on a waterfront property can also be more costly.

The humidity, the mist, the perpetual state of dampness, and perhaps the salt can impact the exterior of the homes. Not only can it affect the exterior and impact the grounds of the property, but it can also cause increased wear and tear on interior furnishings and appliances.

Water can be a breeding zone for pesky insects and other animals. Mosquitoes can be a major nuisance.

Finally, since the properties are often more private and secluded, this also means less neighbors to check in on things. The doors and windows facing the water can be vulnerable targets for burglaries. Your privacy also can be affected by the noise of passing motorboats. If you don’t own land at the edge of your property, the public may have legal access to the shoreline.

Re: Bedroom with Waterfront View

The view is just a dream come true.  That is my romantic side.

I would never want to live on the edge of the ocean because of the potential for serious damage or destruction in storms.  That is my practical side.
