I don't know what it is about this room, but I like just everything about the vibe it emanates.  I would not want to be drinking red wine, while walking about this room, or sitting upon any of the sofas, or even have a dog laying upon any of these sofas, but other than that-- I adore the elegance and peacefulness of the room and use of flowers and even the style of the coffee table. My personal taste is more neoclassical, and less formal, however.  Look at those glass doors and window edged in dark-colored wood!  Love those, too.

So very formal. It's beautiful but not for me. One arrangement has a Christmassy look.

@AuntG - Are you referring to the white rose arrangement with some red sprigs (?) of some kind of flowered plant at the forefront of the room image, or to the greens draped across the mantle?

It is lovely and the decor is elegant. I like it very much, but it is not for me.

Yes, the roses with the red berries and greens does look like a Christmas arrangement.

The room is beautiful @Jersey Born and I agree with your assessment.  I too can appreciate a beautiful room without relating it to my present taste and lifestyle.  Thanks for sharing.

It's a lovely, elegantly appointed room with beautiful elements, if just a bit stiff.
