I am redoing my bathroom and want to install bead board and paint the walls above it.  I'm not sure how high the bead board should be from the floor.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

I don't know if there is any right or wrong, when we did ours, we did it halfway.

@travelin grandma For bathroom: 38 - 42 inches from floor.

To be clearer, if you have 8’ ceilings go with 38”. If you have 9’ or 10’ ceilings, then go with 40” and 42” from the floor.

Most are 1/3 up the height of the wall, but reverse that is you are going for a high panel look.  Thirds are a standard design element in everything from decorating to photography when deciding where the horizon should be.  So that would be about 3 feet for a standard 8 or 9 ft. ceiling.

I was thinking in terms of the third.  One third no board.  I'd go with what looks right to my eye.

What about doing it all in beadboard or one or more of the walls with an accent wall paper/color or focusing on the tile of the shower tub? I also like beadboard ceilings or do the walls beadboard and the ceiling stamped tin.

Wouldn't beadboard be adversely affected by the moisture in a bathroom? Steam from showers & baths etc.

I think beadboard is also  available in exterior grade or PVC if you're thinking of using it in a bathroom.

@travelin grandma I bought the set of six (I think) precut bead boards to do a section in my bathroom. I believe they were 36" and our baseboard is about 3". I love it. @151949 The moisture has not affected the boards at all.
