Re: Bathfitters Tub & Shower

In my last home, I redid the bath using a generic surround from Lowe's and while it wasn't ideal it wasn't costly and the bathroom actually turned out to look lovely, though certainly no one would have called it an upscale re-do. I too had problems using the shower afterward and ended up having to have a plumber come and adjust the shower part of the installation to get it to work and to be honest, it ended up being a significant job. They aren't difficult to clean, though, but will never look as shiny or pristine as tile or some more upscale material. I used Scrubbing Bubbles and Magic Erasers. Everything in that bath was purchased as a bargain but the selections were made to work together and when all was said and done, it did. I sold that place and the bathroom was actually a selling point, so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: Bathfitters Tub & Shower

ibb38, I told you I would get back with you after Bathfitters came yesterday. Not good news. We were told that the problem was with our water pressure being too high & the 3-way valve they installed. He adjusted the valve so the water does not come out as much & said if I didn't like it, they would have to come back & go through the back wall which is in my closet & put in a valve like the old one (or something like that, I really don't quite understand). I told him I would try it this weekend & if I didn't like it, I would call them Monday morning. They had to re-calk around the tub & floor so I had to wait 24 hours for it to dry before trying it out. I just know there is not going to be enough water pressure & I am so unhappy. Just wanted to let you know where we stand tonight. We'll see what the next phase brings. Oh, I almost forgot something. The company we financed it through called yesterday & asked if the project had been finished. I told him the story, so maybe it is like another lady said Home Depot works - the finance company doesn't pay them until the job is completed & is satisfactory with the customer. So, that was a positive plus. They said they would check back with me.
