Looking at Macy’s after Xmas sale and saw a throw by Hotel collection called Luxe Knit. Material looks identical to BFD but there are only 2 colors avail. $45.

@GingerHead

Last week, my daughter stopped by and she had on what looked like a BFD longer cardigan with 2 front pockets.  Now she's got 4 kids and I know she's not buying BFD.

It was a light grey - really pretty. I asked her "girl is that sweater BFD?"  She doesn't know that brand so she said well, if that's high end you know Im not buying it!  She picked it up at walmart for 19$ about 2 weeks ago.  We went up in my closet to the ONE barefoot dreams item I have.  Exact same design and I have had it for maybe 8 years.  They were identical in fabrication and style.  She commented well I don't know what you paid for that brand name sweater, but who knows this walmart one may fall apart when I wash it!

I went in my local Walmart right after I saw hers and they were all out of stock.  So you guys are right in that brand name doesn't always mean better and really, I have know that for decades.

    Absolutely! I totally agree and  a big part of what we're paying for in these expensive clothes is the brand name, celebrity endorsements, and the bragging rights. Haha... high quality doesn't always have to equate to a high price tag (it can but not always).

**Disclaimer: Of course, this isn't the case for everything—some budget-friendly (and high cost (for that matter)) fashion pieces can be of low quality. I gotta add that disclaimerWoman Wink

   Also, I just really started shopping at Walmart for fashions in the last year or so after seeing some people on Youtude showing off their fashion finds. You might find it fun to look on youtude for Walmart fashions.

    I'm amazed at the prices! They are really unbelieveable. Of course some of the stuff isn't great quality but the vast majority of what I've gotten is at least as good as QVC (Denim&Co, etc) or better for a fraction of the cost....like a fourth of the price (sweaters for $10 and $15!)

@GingerHead   I buy Time N True tank tops from the Mart every summer. They wear like iron and are so inexpensive.  When they go down to 2.99, many colors aren't available but I buy them anyway to sleep in cause I use them year round.  That's my sleep uniform...tank tops and cotton jammie bottoms.

I recently saw a sweater at T.J. Maxx that really resembled Barefoot Dreams.

I didn't buy it because I don't like the open sweater look. But it was $19.99

and it felt so soft. You never know what you will find at stores, I would never

pay the prices for the real clothing.

@threecees

I love TJ Maxx and have found some great deals.

 Barefoot Dreams fabric content isn't unique so you can find dupes out there for sure.

@bmorechick  Great prices on tanks! I'l have to check those out.

Your sleep uniform sounds like mine. Woman Happy

Costco had a "dupe" for a BD throw and was all the rage on different threads.  I purchased it and it was awful....lots of snags but very soft.   I have many items of BD and love them but not the same.

Years ago Colleen Lopez had a dupe. I bought 2 sweaters that were terrible quality. They shed like crazy and shrunk after washing.

I sent them back.
