Brazilian interior designer Andre Mellone of "Studio Mellone" is now New York-based, but he still has a feeling for tropical escapes.  I liked this beach house right away, the stone walkway and wall--

The views, combined with natural wood, art, glass, pottery, so nice.

Love these sinuous, raw wood coffee tables--

Dining with those water, cloud and rock views would be dreamy.

The way that the green, green rain forest comes right up to the house gives that untamed nature feeliing.

How do you react to the concrete ceiling?  He does like using concrete.  I like a little of it -- maybe not as much as he does.  Of course, it's better to have it in a hot climate than a cold one!

The bedrooms are intimately scaled little retreats, and the parrots here-- so cute.

Lush.

Andre Mellone is a versatile designer-- his urbane New York apartment projects are really good too, and couldn't be more different.

There seems such a clean simplicity to this coastal getaway....

@grandma r   ,   I'm wondering if you normally post in green, or if that was creatively adopted in the spirit of this very green Brazilian outpost!!   Neat.  I like it, either way!

I like the views but the rest isn't my taste.  Feels cold and uninviting and way to modern for me

I loved the blending of the organic/modern design, for this particular setting. Tricky to accomplish. Not overdone, with airy, simple beauty. A perfect escape.

@Oznell

My off the wall observation:

I noticed those outdoor railings would not be up to code in the U.S.

You couldn’t have kids or fur babies in that house… without tethering them in with bungee cords. lol

Really like this one.  Sort of Frank Lloyd Wright.  Much more to my taste than others you've posted @Oznell.  Thanks!!!

I tend to agree. While interesting, the house is not much to my liking and nothing about the decor resonates with me. While the setting is beautiful, I'd have no interest in living there. Don't think I'd even want to visit.

I have to agree with @stevieb and @JudyL....

Overall, a bit cold and distant to me. Cat Indifferent
