I've heard that every room needs a touch of blue but this takes the cake.

Re: BLUE LIVING ROOM

[ Edited ]

My least favorite spaces are the living room and bedroom with blue and white wallpaper. Too much blue for me. I like the other rooms. Love the porch! I tend to use warmer colors in my home, but I do have 2 blue chairs in one of our spare bedrooms which acts like a "library".

I like the light blue ceiling, and the room seems to have enough natural light to accommodate that.  Usually it seems like it is the ceiling that is white and the walls that have some color.

The nice bay window area in the family room reminds me of a stage the way the curtains can be drawn to close-off or open-up that two-seater dining area.  The family can hold plays there . . .

Act 1, Scene 1, the curtains open to reveal a husband and wife sitting across from each other at the table, sipping their coffees in those travelling cups and saucers borrowed from the Perry Mason tv shows.  The couple is discussing how pleased they are with Andrew Howard's design of their guest room, and they cannot wait for their guests to arrive for a weekend of fun.  Little do their guests know that the room is designed to drive them insane with the wild patterns going on in there.  First the wallpaper, so mesmerizing with the charming paisley prints, or are those fishes, or something else, then they will get lost staring at the patterns on the curtains and shades that look like a rodent maze, trying to find the start and end of the maze trail, then their gazes will return to the paisleys to see that some of them are made up of little five-pointed stars, and some look like the gobbling eaters from the Pac-Man video game . . .  Thankfully the door to/from the room is painted solid white should they wish to find the exit for a little respite in the . . . dining room, as long as they don't have to sit facing the chrysanthemum wallpaper with those pulsating petals that may drive them further nuts . . .  but on the other hand where the tureen-like vase holding the white flowers on the sideboard will calm them down because tureen rhymes with serene . . .  Finally they will retreat to the cozy shingled porch and start to feel like themselves again.  And a wonderful weekend will be had by all.

Ha, ha, @QVCisFun --   a masterpiece!   What a play.  Brava, bravissima!   "Pulsating petals", among others,  love it!

What else are you doing with your inventiveness and writing talent?

Thank you @Oznell !  I'm not really doing much else.  I enjoy your writing talent, too.
