Traditional Japanese rooms have no chairs. Usually just a low-profile table and pillows to sit on. Then they started using chairs without legs...basically floor pillows with backs on them.

Don't like the ceiling fixture, but everything else is ok with me.....It seems very zen.....I actually really like alot of Asian prints, so the couch is ok to me.....

I actually like it except for thelight fixture and I prefer a solid color for the sofa.  I'd maybe use the sofa print (smaller scale) as pillows.

Some nice elements. I like the cabinet and the rug. That said, I'll be glad when the 'Asian nods' become a trend of the past.

Overall, the room is very pretty and calming. I would get rid of the ceiling light and the carpet.

@lolakimono , I don't generally like Asian-inspired furniture and I don't like the sideboard/cabinet, but I do like the room.  I find it peaceful.

I like everything about this room, but the ceiling fixture.  It looks out of place and IMO should be silver based, not gold.
