@SilleeMee LOL; I think that's what I like best about it.

I strongly dislike dark kitchens. This kitchen looks cluttered and definitely more for show than a place to cook up great meals...

@SilleeMee  You may be right!  My friends live in a house built in Salem, MA in the 1600's.  It is dark and the ceilings are quite low, but a treasure.  I'm short so even to me the low ceilings are a bit claustrophobic.  While their kitchen is not this elegant, it reminds me of their house with brick, wood and many fireplaces.  I like the cosyness of their house.

Great meals come from the cook, not the kitchen. Woman Wink

I don't care for it at all.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Lose the light fixture and I like the sort of colonial vibe quite a bit. Would need counter stools with backs too.

@faeriemoon

Yes dark can be cozy.  I have slate floors, warm wood cabinets and black counters but have lots of natural light and fun light fixtures.

Wide plank wood floors in the rest of the adjacent rooms but with the natural light streaming in it's cozy not dark.

So cozy and atmospheric!  Love.  I do always need lighter elements mixed with dark, so with all the brick providing the "gravitas", ha,  would probably have lighter trim and cabinets.  Different pendant light.

But really, how can you go wrong with a kitchen with such good bones?

That wood island top, that is fabulous.

It definitely gives off a British pub vibe or a cozy New England feel. Thanks for the post @faeriemoon ❤️
