I have a friend who did this to her stairs many years ago.  Guessing, it had to be at least 20 some years ago.

I remember how beautiful they were.  I used to 'hang out' with a group of ladies who could make or do anything.

We all had children the same age, in the same school.  None of us worked (stay at home mom's).  We were a kinda "mom gang".  Ha!

Of course we all thought our kid was the brightest!  They are beautiful.

I'd like to take a minute to tell @lolakimono how much I appreciate the way when you see something beautiful and/or interesting, you always take the time to post the picture to share it with all of us.

You @lolakimono are wonderful to think of everyone here.  We are lucky to have you in our 'gang'!

@lolakimono, that is my kind of pattern and I love it.  However, I think that the stairway is to dark and narrow for the print.  This might look good in a staircase with several landings and lots of light.  In fact, I would do something like this with my front staircase and I just might.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I would like to see an aquatic scene.  Something tranquil with plenty of lighting or in an airy space as one climbs/descends.

I don't like stairs although I live in a two story house and have them. Mine are open with a nice heavy handrail and not in a closed in area. These stairs look too steeep and too dark. I can't think of anyone who would be safe going up or coming down. They look like an invite for little children, older people and even teens horsing around to fall and be hurt really bad.

I would never do this in my home. I like bright and airy. These wooden steps scare me just to look at them. No hand railing? These may be the reaon there are ads often for stair lifts. Maybe a museum would appreciate the art, but not in a lived in home. Just not for me, ever.
