This is my latest project.  I went to Restore and bought a large mirror and am mosaicing it with tile and seashells.  I'm in the middle of grouting it and will post a picture when it is complete.  I haven't done this for a few years, so hoping it comes out as good as I hope it will.  (The green is tape).  It will be all beige and white.  001.JPG

@SuesCat - I'll posts the final project in a couple of days after the grout dries!  Keeping my fngers crossed.  It's an all day project grouting, especially around the seashells.

I like it!  Do you use a saw to cut the tiles?  And are the tiles set in cement or something similar?

I bought these tiles precut from old dishes. The mirror was originally bubble gum pink, I painted the mirror then glued the tiles to the mirror, then grout around the tiles.

It looks awesome. Can't wait to see the finished project. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have the patience to tackle things like this anymore.

@BornToShop -Thanks!  Oh yes it would!  It would probably cost me a fortune to ship - its very large and heavy.  When I get done, I'm going to send a picture to a friend who owns a decor shop and see if she will sell it for me.  I get very attached to my pieces - or it could end up on the mantel above my fireplace!  I will definitely start a new post in a few days after I get the piece finalized.  I pulled off the tape and it turned out beautiful.  Just have to seal it and I think I'm going to paint a couple of the shells gold.  I took plaster of paris and made a mold of a turtle and a seahorse and put that on the top with the shells, but I think it needs a little more gold.

@Snicks1 - it does take a lot of patience, especially laying out the pattern and working with seashells.  But when the piece is finished, it is very rewarding.
