Re: Anyone use a latex foam topper for your bed?

Many years ago I bought one.  Don't remember the name though.  I do remember it is very heavy.  It was delivered to my front door and I couldn't open the door enough get out.  The box wouldn't budge.  I had to go out thru garage and move the box away from the front door which was still difficult to do.  Getting it out of the box was difficult too.  I slept very warm on it.  Husband didn't care for it.  Didn't stay on our bed very long.

Re: Anyone use a latex foam topper for your bed?

I am sleeping on a fantastic 3-inch topper made by Dormeo. It stays cool, it gives firm but plush support to the heavy areas like hips and shoulders. It has substantial straps that go under the 4 corners of the mattress so it does not shift under the sheets.

It came tightly rolled in a duffel-like bag inside a tall cardboard shipping box and I hade no trouble getting it upstairs to my bedroom, cut out of its protective plastic  and rolled out on the mattress. It has no odor and it's pretty, with a washable cover. It "plumped up" in a few hours after opening it and I have enjoyed improved sleep. My mattress had a sag in it which was remedied by this even, firm, comfortable topper.  Instead of replacing the mattress I used the topper to restore comfort.

Look up Dormeo and see their web page for details about the materials and construction and pricing info.Or find a demo video on YouTube.  Pricey, but guaranteed for ten years and it ships the next day with free shipping via UPS. if you don't like it after 100 nights of sleep, they take it back with free shipping for the return, too.

I found one on Amazon. It's 3 inch, Dunlop, firm, no cover...$300 for queen. I don't need a cover. Have to think about this. I have an old dog and she has trouble getting up on my bed as it is now. If I add 3 inches, forget about it. She won't be able to get up there. Might have to wait a bit to make my purchase....after I get another younger dog. I don't think it will be that long to tell you the truth...my dog is very old. But I need to start doing my homework now so I can be prepared.Woman Happy

@goldensrbest

Thanks for asking about my Annie. She's doing okay. Getting on top of my bed has been difficult for her as she is old and her back legs are very weak. She uses the pet stairs I got her but she still struggles get up on my bed. If I add 3 more inches to my mattress height then she won't be able to get up on it. I'm going to have to wait to get the mattress topper. Just doing some researching about the toppers right now.Woman Happy

If I were you, @SilleeMee , I'd get a ramp instead of stairs for your dog. I bought a ramp years ago and all my older dogs loved it while the stairs I'd tried were not favored.

I see Chewy has one for only $48.71 that they're calling "Pet Gear cat & dog stairs and ramp" (probably to capture all searches for "stairs" as well as "ramps") but it's really a ramp.

I've seen reports that ramps are better liked and easier for dogs to use.

Best wishes to you and your older dog.

Good luck in the topper search, too.

@SilleeMee   I have a pad that actually is very comfortablel and made of cotton and a cooling fabric.  Check out The Company Store -- they are having a sale.
