Anyone having this problem with Dyson Attachment?

For the second time, the rug attachment that has the rotating blade keeps stoping to rotate while I am vacuuming. Dyson was very good to send me a replacement and it worked for a few months, but now the replacement attachment is doing the same thing. It still picks up the dirt, but I want the brush to rotate. I've tried lifting up the little knob but it starts and stops again.

When I was on the phone with Dyson customer service ordering my replacement (mine actually broke through the assembly piece it jammed so hard) she suggested I clear that brush roller bar out every month or so. Hair or long threads get caught up in it.

Re: Anyone having this problem with Dyson Attachment?

What little knob are you lifting up? My Dyson's brush roller gets full of long dog hair and I have to clean it frequently. It's never not turned though. Although there is a way to turn it off for use on hard floors. The newer model Dyson I bought not too long ago has a really easy release on the floor portion that makes taking the bottom plate off to clean the brush easy. If your brush head is clean and it looks like the belt that makes it rotate is intact, there may be something more involved causing it to malfunction. Dyson CS is the first place I'd go for help and then if that doesn't work I'd take it to a vacuum repair person.
