@meglet You can buy houses much like you see in Waco in almost any Southern or Southwest city. Waco itself isn't a bad place to live. There's no beach or mountains, pretty much flat monotonous terrain right in the middle of the Bible Belt that is very conservative. Home of Baylor University...colleges always attract interesting people and activities as well as entertainment. Football is king. Not much else to do in the area. You most likely will never have to shovel snow but summers are hotter than hades.
i lived in Texas about 35 years before I was able to escape. Not my favorite place.
