Anyone else have Smartpost horror stories??

I ordered a product from Amazon on Jan 20th. It was due today. Shipped out of Oklahoma and I live in Kansas. It didn't come today. UPS says it was sent to the PO yesterday. The PO says they never received it. This has happened 2 other times with another company. If I had known it was coming Smartpost,I wouldn't have ordered it, lol,! I called Amazon who is issuing a refund immediately. He was very nice and I told him I have spoken with others that hate smartpost and it could cost Amazon business. I won't be ordering again. I have had the same issues with Coldwater Creek but they noted on my account UPS ground only, and I've had no issues since then. Wondered if anyone here has had problems? So frustrating to wait only to get NOTHING!{#emotions_dlg.angry}

Re: Anyone else have Smartpost horror stories??

Raises hand!

I had to return an item via Smart Post. Instructions said to drop it off at USPS or UPS. I dropped it off at USPS. Item was tracked. Then it sat For 7 days!!

I called the local post office and the clerk said "yep, looks like UPS hasn't been here in a while to pick up anything"!

So I pick up the item at the post office and drive to UPS where I waited for the clerk to scan it in instead of just dropping it off.

Good thing I was within my 30 day return period!!

Re: Anyone else have Smartpost horror stories??

If I recall Smartpost is a collaboration between FedEx and the USPS. FedEx takes the package to your post office which delivers it to you.

Mail Innovations is collaboration between UPS and the USPS. UPS delivers the package to your post office which delivers it to you.

I don't like either of these delivery systems because it seems like it takes much longer for packages to arrive.

I have a very current Mail Innovations frustration. Just got a photo poster today that I ordered on Jan 15. It was mailed on Jan 17 from a location less than 200 miles from my house. Since then it's been bouncing around my surrounding states and just arrived today. Five days ago, it was in a city 30 miles from when I live but then it made a journey out of state and then back to my local post office. It took 12 days to get less than 200 miles. It must be a lot cheaper to ship this way because it certainly isn't quicker.

Re: Anyone else have Smartpost horror stories??

Other than a longer delivery interval, I haven't had a problem with any of the UPS/USPS and Fed Ex/USPS collaborations. However, I've started seeing a lot of broken items sent through USPS lately. I had the same problem last year for the first six months of the year, then service improved, but now I'm back to a high percentage of broken items. It's frustrating because these items are packed well. Unless the boxes are being thrown great distances, I don't understand how the items inside are getting broken. Anyway, that's my rant. Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your thread, but the topic hit a sore spot with me.

Huh. Sounds like they figure, "we'll just blame it on the other place. No one will know who manhandled it." That's the problem with these "collaborations"...the buck doesn't stop anywhere.

It doesn't sound very smart.

They should raise the prices, process items the exact same way and call it "Dumbpost." {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I agree, it's a nightmare. I've had things never get to me either, only to finally find out they were returned to sender of all things.

I feel your frustration! Crazy isn't it??
