Anyone Make Their Own Laundry Detergent

I was looking at recipes online last night. I think I'm going to give it a try & see how it works. I already use vinegar in place of fabric softener or dryer sheets. I can smell the vinegar in the washing machine after the wash gets finished but the clothes don't smell like vinegar. I doubt I will be able to find washing soda around here so I will have to put baking soda in the oven to covert to washing soda.
