I like that kind of weather but not a steady diet of it... We had a fairly long string of those kind of days this fall and it got old after a while... It's good, at least every few days, to see the sun... It would be even better to see some snow instead of drizzle...

Great point! I don't feel that it is actually 'dreary' at all. I get energy from the overcast, cloudy, rainy weather like others get energy from the sunny weather. Sunny weather really drags me down fast.
The snow stopped and now the sun is partially out, so it's kind of drippy out there now. But the birdies ate all their food, so I'm glad in case it starts snowing or raining again.

Thank you, RedConvertibleGirl! Now if someone is surprised when I tell them I like misty, rainy weather I can tell them "Well, I'm a pluviophile!"

Nice thread. I can't remember if I responded already: rainy days are dreamy. I live for them. I like the overcast skies, thunder, the works!
And I totally agree about the sound of rain.

I love the sound of tires driving through puddles and the hypnotic repetition of windshield wipers. I've always liked having a rainy day outside when I'm at work too. And I love walking in a light rain in the spring, with the smell of the dirt and wet bark and the stirring of the new growth. Don't we all?
Now driving in torrential rain is obviously not so fun. Neither is having to walk in it. And if it looks like it might freeze, my coziness turns into worry about the roads.
But as long as you are safe and sheltered, stormy weather outside makes everything inside all the cozier. When it's nice outside, I get restless and want to be out. When it's drastically nicer inside than outside, my nesting instincts get triggered. I think I get flooded with oxytocin.

I love that kind of weather, too. Especially when the house is decorated for Christmas. Love looking at the lights on cloudy days. It makes it seem more cozy.

When I was working , on a very rainy or cold, snowy day I would always say "May as well be working today, wouldn't be able to do anything else".

What I really dislike are incessant heat and humidity and those days are somehow made worse when it's grey and dreary... I prefer it cooler, so love fall and like winter and if those come with a share of grey days, so be it.
