In my front yard we have a LOT of mulch, (house is long with a high roof line so the landscape reflects the style of home...hence so much mulch) recently when I was doing a little weeding I noticed that the mulch is breaking down badly, I fear that I need to take out all the old mulch and add new, is this typical? My second thought would be to take out all the mulch, and replace it with black lava rock, (boy is that expensive) then I would be done replacing/adding mulch every year.
I tried calling the company that did the work originally..I emailed and then followed up with a phone call but had to leave a message, I have yet to be contacted, so I called another company, the owner came out took a few measurements and said he would come up with a plan to rework the yard so that we could eliminate some of the mulch....that was 3 weeks ago and I have not heard from him either! Business must be great for them to be able to blow off customers, so I am coming to these boards for some advice......thanks for any input.
