When it rains it pours with appliances.  6 years seems to be the breaking point lately.  If the charge is over a certain amount you should replace.

Problem is the service call is usually very expensive lately.

@Pooky1  Sorry to hear your news. I hope if you choose to replace that there will be reviews for some that state they have used their for a longer period/durable.

Our washer/dryer set we bought in 2000 when we got married and still going strong. They sure don't make things like they used to.

Our Microwave is also old...came from my apt and I bought it in 1985. Both the washer & dryer and the microwave are Kenmore.

@Susan Louise

Sears Kenmore was our go-to appliance choice.  Sears had standards above manufacturers regular models, so they were quality.  Unfortunately those days are gone.  New challenges.

@Twins Mom   Yep, Sears was our go-to for all our appliances too.

Our first washer was a Kenmore washer and dryer and my parents had a couple Kenmore washers and dryer to. One of her Kenmore washers that she paid 800 bucks for back in the 80s had awesome features. But when it was two months old it broke and warranty covered and when my parents went into a Sears store she saw someone she new that was the manager of the appliance department and he told them if you have anymore problems with it you call me and when washer was 8 months old it broke again it was the transmission so my mom called the guy at Sears and he had a brand new washer  delivered and took the broken washer back. That replacement washer we had for a long time. That was the best washer I ever used.

Right around pandemic we bought a total of three American made washers ( supposedly easier to get repaired in our resort community (3 hrs from Phoenix). We bought them all from Lowes with extended warranties and Lowes replaced all three. I do 2-3 loads A day, but follow all recommendations about lots adinf, cleaning machines. To say they don't make them like they used to is a huge understatement.

@Pooky1   Sorry you're having these problems... I know how aggravating it is.  I was wondering if you searched online for help in troubleshooting this problem. I've had to research my appliances a couple of times and had really good results. I was shocked at the information I found and great instructions I was able to understand. Good luck!
