@Annabellethecat66  Thanks for the more detailed information.  I might look into the Nest, too.  I think I did look that up at one time but don't remember what I found out.

it was sold out this  morning b/c I was thinking about getting one,

 

however Costco offers a Ring with chime/1 year of cloud for $180~

amazon, UPS and USPS all have tracking services that you can send to your email/text messaging.  I recommend this it's very easy to set up.

 

also  have texting set up here for when packages are shipped from QVC
