Bottom sheet - -I've always wondered about that. How do you tuck in the middle section.  Never seen a easy solution.

Twin beds or guest room the real answer...............LOL

With a split king the sheet sets have two xl twins for the bottom sheets. I make our leep number bed by setting each side on zero gravity which lifts the head an foot of the mattress into a slightly V shape. Then I can slip the elasticized ends over each end, smooth the sides down and then set the mattresses to flat. Comes out nice and neat.

Re: Adjustable Bed Recommendations (Split King)

@SandGirl   I have a queen adjustable bed frame, and I love it. In fact, I'm going to buy another adjustable frame and have this one for one of the guest bedrooms.

I had googled "highest rated adjustable queen bed frame" and researched the results. Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Mattress Firm, and a local furniture store carry most of the styles I read about. I might go see the one at the furniture store because it has a small area that rises in the lumbar area, and I currently put a soft pillow there now while I'm fairly upright.

It all depends on what features you're looking for in an adjustable frame. Do you want it to massage? Do you want USB ports? Do you want it to automatically raise you if you snore? Do you want both the head & foot area to rise - & to what degree? Do you want a remote with a backup?

Once you choose the options you'd like, the decision on the brand/style might be easier.

Re: Adjustable Bed Recommendations (Split King)

@SandGirl , I have an adjustable split king Sleep Number bed. I just buy twin xl sheets for it. I sew the top sheets together to make one wide one with the 2 fitted bottom sheets. I buy California King quilts because they are wider and longer. I move a lot but my husband usually doesn't feel me and says it doesn't bother him.

@froggy , sounds like we have similar beds.  We got our second sleep number bed and it's adjustable.  Like you said, it's the easiest way to change the sheets.

I also like that we each have our own remotes so that we can adjust the hardness/softness of the mattress plus we can each adjust the head/foot levels.

We have had a Select Comfort for years and love it!

Mega comfort, helps with allergies because it isn't porous, and never needs to be turned!!!

@Toot1920  Where do you find CA king comforters?  I haven't been successful.

My parents had two twin mattresses attached to one headboard.  To make them, they just split the two bed apart so all they did was make two twin beds.  They could walk between them.  They had a heavy cotton damask king bedspread so it looked like one big bed.  However, the spread was so heavy, they eventually gave up trying to wrangle it.  I don't think you could have this arrangement with an adjustasble bed, however.

This is exactly the bed setup my parents had in the late 40's and 50's. Worked very well because, as you said, my mom could pull them apart at foot to walk between to do sheets. There were no fitted sheets back then, so making a bed was an effort for sure. When we moved to a larger home my mom had twin beds in all bedrooms.  Seems people only buy a twin size bed for young kids these days. My grandkids each sleep in a queen bed for goodness sakes.

Tempur-pedic!!  They are the very best IMO.  I have another brand of memory foam in our guest room.  It doesn't compare -- sinks in too much.

Yes, very comfortable, but hubby and I sleep on a king Tempur-pedic and that thing weighs as much as a herd of elephants. Delivery men really earned their money hauling it and the foundation into our bedroom. I can't even lift the mattress edges to tuck in sheets without a struggle. Had I known the weight of Tempur-pedic in advance of purchase I would have settled for a queen since hubby is a very quiet sleeper. King mattresses are too large to flip over too, which I don't like.

@tansy, Kohl's has them. So do Beall's. I usually look at the sizes. Sometimes the king sizes are bigger. I just check the sizes.
