Acrylic vs. Mercury Glass Fiinials

I see there are two types for sale. Which is the better product?

Re: Acrylic vs. Mercury Glass Fiinials

I suppose it depends on your circumstances, and how careful you need to be at your house with glass, but having both, I can say that no one should be wary about trying the acrylic ones. They look so much like glass, are so incredibly beautiful, and I think much nicer than the glass ones. No worries if they tip, as they will hold up much better than the thin glass.

I love both, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick the acrylic.

Many thanks! Where do you use yours? Mantel or tablescape?

Unfortunately, I have no fireplace in my current house (and I'm not a bit happy about that, as I spent the first 35 years of my life with a fireplace in each home I lived in. Love fireplaces!!).

So mine get used on table tops. I use them as part of vignettes that include many other things, and the lit ones provide the lighting for the display at night.

This past year, I bought quite a bit of new holiday decor, in order to, for the first time in my life, customize each vignette with every item chosen to match/coordinate with the others in the scene. I'd never been able to do something like this before, and was really pleased with the results. The finials were a first for me as well, and I love the height they add to a display, as well as the light.

I'm hoping since it is supposed to be easier to post pics here now, to do so when I get the decor set up this Christmas season.

If you have a mantel, any of the offered sets will be lovely, and those acrylic ones that Valerie offers really are just to die for!
