We just switched service from ADT to another locally owned company because of the unbelievably POOR service we have experienced with ADT. We have been with them for over 10 years and have just recently had to call them for service issues. Just let me say we've had serious issues with our fire/smoke alarms and they don't care one bit about their customers or their safety! We practically begged them to have someone come out and check the system and were continually told it would be a week before anyone could get here. In the meantime the smoke alarm in the crawlspace under the house (where the heat system is) continually set the alarm off, the fire department came and we still don't know what the problem is. ADT's advice was that we shut down the system - so what happens if there really is a problem and we burn up during the night? Well, they'll check on it in about a week because they cannot rearrange any appointments to give us priority. We've had some additional service issues in the past year due to lightning and it took F O R E V E R for them to help us then. And then there was just the plain stupidity of their reps who didn't know what the he ll they were doing. Well guess what, ADT? You can forget sending someone in a week. We have someone from another company coming TODAY and they will get our money in the future.

If you do a search for ADT complaints it is unbelievable how many pages there are of people talking about the same kind of problem with them. How do companies like that stay in business???
