There are many similar in our area.

I just never got around to robbing a bank to be able to afford one though!

@stevieb

FYI This is a photo of My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown, KY completed in 1818. It’s usually open for tourists, but not sure about now during the pandemic. No one lives there. It is a State Park. It has been restored inside and out with period furnishings. Originally called Federal Hill, it was renamed My Old Kentucky Home in 1923.

Stephen Foster’s song “My Old Kentucky Home” (published 1853) that is played at the KY Derby every year is not directly related to this property but just a general song about bygone days in the South.

Wreaths and candles in the windows is all this house needs.

IMO, there's nothing more beautiful than early American architecture, as well as, handmade American furniture, too.

This house is one of them.  I'd love to go inside.

Yes please. But I think I'd still want a front porch.  Smiley Happy

@beach-mom when I see a home like that,, I wonder if a large sunroom has been added to the back. I agree a porch is a must, but not on the front of this beautiful home.

@AuntG - Of course I agree with you! This is a beautiful Federal (I think) style home. We once had a beautiful front  porch we could sit on. Now we have a small covered porch. We can't sit on it, but it's fun to decorate!  Smiley Happy

@wilma  I knew the house was 'My Old Kentucky Home' but it's good to know a little of its history. Still, in all the pictures of it I've seen, I think the winter scene is prettiest and shows the house at its best.

What a beautiful classic home.  I am sure the inside is every bit as lovely.  To me, at least, this is “old money.”  Nothing gaudy about this place.

Yes, it's true.  Usually, quiet elegance.
