Tell you what, this has been a bit dislocating.  I've landed now at TCM Message Boards-Forums.  What do I know, but it seems like an established, uncomplicated site. It's very easy to sign up and you don't have to stick to just films.  Apparently, any topic goes, including politics, nature, anything, if you put it in General Discussions or Off-Topics.

Thanks for all your help and information, it is appreciated.  I did sign up with TCM but have hesitated on any other site.  As I have stated in a few posts, why would a positive uplifting site such as the forum be taken away.  

You are one of the posters I will miss.  I enjoy your movie posts, decorating suggestions and your well written descriptions, I do admire your writing skills!

If there are any worthwhile sites to go to that are similar to these forums, I will consider it.  Meanwhile I will continue to post until these forums are removed.  Enjoy your day.

Thanks for kind words, @spiderw .  True,  it would be so preferable if they even kept a few of the more active threads going here.  But I'm excited you are signed up at TCM--  you are one who I'd hate to lose touch with.  You can post on any topic over there, not just films.  I was thinking you and @SharkE might want to check out the "Horror" category....  

So happy you two are at least on board at TCM, even if you decide to 'branch out' later.

Thanks, Oznell.  Yes, I will check out the horror category.  I am all excited when October comes around.  I don't have enough room on my DVR for all the great horrors I want to tape despite the fact I have seen them over and over again and have many on DVD!!  

I will look into the pro board, it seems to be one that many posters are going to.  However, it won't be the same as the forums and I feel I am losing friends.  Hopefully we'll all find our way and maintain contact, who knows maybe the forums will make a return.

@spiderw  yes, it isn't going to be the same. Kind of like when we graduated and everyone scattered to different colleges and workplaces. Hopefully I'll see some familiar names as I read the threads on pro boards.

I will look again at TCM and might participate in both, but odds are I'll do the bulk of my posting at the site that offers the broadest range and while I understand TCM offers a good amount, it really is looking like the ProBoards forum is solidly up, running and wide ranging.

I am sure they will have a home board on the proboards group or you can ask for one!

@Oznell @CherryHugs @stevieb @AuntG and others....I just noticed when I signed on to the forums a few minutes ago that QVC IS KEEPING THE FORUMS OPEN! In part, the message from QVC says:

'WE HEARD YOU! We understand how much you value this space as a place to make meaningful connections and share what's on your mind. ...we're keeping our Blogs & Forums live. ..."

@cimeranrose that is wonderful. I thought taking something away before Christmas was Scrooge-like of them . I love looking at the Christmas decorating posts.
