I kind of like this room, even though I think I might have preferred a gothic style table of gold metal and glass in that space, or perhaps a gold metal and glass table in the shape of a leaf, instead of the wooden table. I typically am not a fan of green in a room, but I like it here, as it gives a forestal and earthy vibe to the space. I do love the ceiling's arches and gold detail work, along with the columns and wainscoting. What do you think?

I like the room and love the green accents.  Its a beautiful green color.  I dont like the art or the frames.  I would change them all, but to what Im not sure.

I love it (except for the frames that take away from the grandeur of the walls and the architecture) - It definitely appeals to my tastes.

It looks like a reception area of church or funeral home.

I would not want a room like that in my home.

Re: A Mysterious Green Room

[ Edited ]

This is a really cool room, but I think the artwork (particularly the frames) is a little stuffy in such an ethereal space.

Love that ceiling. And that green/grey is divine.

@Jersey Born

Does your source say anything about the table?  It looks like burl wood, exactly the same shade as my burl dining room table and china cabinet.  But I can't get in close enough to get a good look at the table in your picture.

I enjoy Gothic architecture;  I don't care for the effect they did here of picking out the columns and the filigree-like "veining" in gold-- would much prefer those details in something less flamboyant and not 'high contrast'.

Ditto the gold quatrefoil fretwork near the floor in the window alcove-- love it, just not in gold.

My monitor must be off-  it is showing the walls in a mid-gray, no green.   I do love the green velvet couches with their gold pillows-- sumptuous!   The gilt-framed landscape paintings are a beautiful touch.

The rug, with its elaborate "vining" perimeter and plain interior, is giving an Art Nouveau feeling to me, and is not enhancing, in my opinion.

The mixing of classic, and then a few contemporary elements, is well done.

I guess it's okay for a huge house.  Looks like a church sanctuary to me.

@shoesnbags - The source was not from a magazine or home site, so sadly, I have no details to offer on the living space or where it might exist in the world. The source was a FB ad for the carpet in the room!

huge NO for me......it looks like a room in an art gallery or museum, not a home.
