A FEW TRADITIONAL ROOMS BY HEATHER CHADDUCK

[ Edited ]

Well, I'm used to "Heather Chadduck",  but technically her name is "Heather Chadduck Hillegas" now, I guess.

Here's a smattering of her rooms from various different houses.  She has a relaxed approach to traditional, and always nice use of color.  She's known for designing textiles, so pretty fabrics abound:

Remember, it's just a smattering of rooms and vignettes from different houses, not all the same house.  But don't you think there is a common thread?   She has a breezy, hospitable, Southern-inflected style.  She has a real feel for the freshness of summer cottages and "lake houses",  I think.

Love the use of browns and greens in this bedroom.

One of my favorite English designers was the late Georgina Fairholme.  Not since some of her rooms have I seen a designer so deftly and surprisingly, combine purples, chocolate browns, and blue.  So unexpected and pretty.

Another gorgeous print on chairs.

Close-up of the chair's fabric.  She never stopped using warm neutrals like browns and sort of sepia tones, mixed in with her soft colors...

And this incredibly rich mix of fabrics --  love.

I like "leaning" mirrors and art work too, if it's not overdone.

What a pretty table she can set.

So delicate, and vintage-inspired...

Thought I had posted this kitchen, but forgot!  It's in a 1930's bungalow she did.  Really like the character:

And the breakfast nook, with darling antique chairs.  Love their quirky little shapes:

The bedroom pic with the loveseat  and chairs is my favorite.   It looks like so nice and cozy.

Boy she has a gift of textiles and patterns to fit easily into rooms. Nothing is overpowering but you notice. Beautiful rooms.

The only room that I really like is #6 (with the wooden ceiling).  That room looks like something that I would live in but the others I'm not really a fan of.

@Oznell, LOVE Chadduck's rooms.. Does she have design books that you can rec? The pictures and ideas you always are so good to share make my day. Going to use my tilt top table in a similar way to Chadduck. Once again please keep sharing.

Overall, some lovely rooms and mostly all of the elements are appealing. While there are some rooms and elements I don't care for, I appreciate her aesthetic and deft combinations of colors and patterns.
