Only the third picture appeals to me.

I like the 2 hangings--one on the banister and one on the wall--in the cozy lodge pix.  That's about it.

Re: A FEW RUSTIC* LIVING ROOMS

I like the last living room/kitchen area (last two photos) along with the 4th picture but I'd still have to tweak them quite a bit.  The third one would be a great vacation rental in the mountains.  The others didn't really appeal to me.

Love the rug and picture with the sofa and coffee table, beautiful combo of colors.

*The First room may be my favorite. It has a simple Scandinavian vibe that I enjoy. I love using fewer, larger items for impact (like you described). Much more calming and relaxing to me. I love the cupboard too and ivory slipcovered furniture. The thick walls, the color scheme, the cute window with black trim, the curved door, the beams, simple pottery.....all good.

*Love the green velvet couches.

*The 3rd Lodge room could be nice as well.  Although I'm not a fan of the stone used on the fireplace (it's distracting).....the scale and mix of sizes and patterns is much too busy and "synthetic" or tile like looking for me. I'd prefer a bigger size stone that looks more natural.

I'd also change out the lamps, side table, antler table, and whole mantel and mantel decorations and it could be fantastic.

*The last room with the mixture of cool and warm neutrals is fantastic and I think it's mostly because of that unique mixture of color tones. I know I like that room but I'm not sure if I would've been able to pinpoint just exactly why until you pointed the color mix.
Unique and the cool tones enhance the warm tones....so pretty.

Re: A FEW RUSTIC* LIVING ROOMS

There were some rooms in the original post that had some appeal, and other rooms I didn't care for.  But almost all of the rooms had at least one or more individual things I liked.  For example, the pottery in most of the photos, the primitive cupboard in photo #1, the bell-shaped iron floor lamp in photo #4, the green glass collection on the shelves in photo #5.

It would be nice to find at least a few more rustic rooms that had color on the walls.  They more often go for a wash of color in their accessories, and more often, for texture, as opposed to color...

@Oznell  , here are a few rustic rooms with color on the walls.  The first photo is of a Chad Graci project.

Gorgeous, my favorite of your pictures @QVCisFun.

Something about that dusty aqua (love) against the stunning wood tones (love) is so lovely and unique. Relaxing/calming.

*Really great trim, ceiling, beams and architecture don't hurt the affect either...

*Lovely artwork

Oh, those are gorgeous rich colors, @QVCisFun --  you made some great finds, thanks for posting them!

Those bordeaux walls, playing off the beautiful wool rug, stunning.
