Re: A FEW EASTER VIGNETTES AND TABLES

oh my goodness @Oznell so many wonderful things to look at in those photos and enjoy.  Love the bunny too!

I like vintage items. I have a couple of bunny statues (not that small). I bought them so long ago, I think in the 80's and I think I found them in an antique shop so I wonder if they qualify as vintage? Now that you reminded me, I have to get them out of the doughboy where I have them stored.

I love the flower arrangements too. No real flowers for me as the cats are way too interested in eating things they shouldn't. Funny thing is that the tabby, Honey, who strayed into my yard and finally allowed me to care for her was so smart. She never chewed on any of my plants in the yard and stayed away from the road. Since she didn't like to be inside all day, we would go for a walk around the yard and inspect all the flowers and bushes, then come back in. I miss walking with my lovely girl. Never was sure how old she was when she came to me but she had been TNRd. She was with me for 6 years.

I've never tried to make hot cross buns but they always look so delicious.  I do quick breads but never made breads that required yeast.  My grandmother and aunt on the farm did though. Every Saturday, they spent the entire morning baking and I would help as a little girl.  The doughboy was in the farmhouse and yes, they used it to allow the dough to rise.

I was lucky enough to be the one in the family who got it (the 3 of us split up the things that we wanted).

This little guy made off with my heart--  is he what you would call a lop-eared bunny?   Look at his feet!   I just love his chunky little head.  If anyone knows more about this type of bunny, do tell! Screenshot 2024-03-27 at 6.46.39 PM.png

[ Edited ]

@GinaV24 ,  yup, isn't it funny that the 80's qualifies as "vintage"?   Supposedly, anything over 20 years old, but less than 100, falls in that category.   Over 100, and you get to call yourself an antique...

Oh, I hope you get your bunnies out!  They're such a happy harbinger of spring.  I got my two best vintage bunnies in an antique shop too-- an old green bunny teapot, and an ivy-themed ceramic bunny box....

We're fairly lucky, in that our kitties aren't that interested in plants, at least in chewing them.  But it's always a concern, as you note.  I only recently read that snake plants can be toxic for them, cause diarrhea and vomiting, etc.   That was a shocker.

Edited to add, @GinaV24 ,  your Honey sounds like such a sweetheart, accompanying you on your garden rounds.  We never, ever forget the sweetness of these little companions, no matter how long or short a time we get to have them...

@QVCisFun ,  thanks for digging up all the fun Q bunny items!

Re: A FEW EASTER VIGNETTES AND TABLES

They did a fantastic job with that Easter table, @Iwantcoffee --  I love blue and white, and it seems especially fresh and spring-like now.

That's a gorgeous porcelain egg as a centerpiece, wow--  also like the bunny plates, and the little touches of green in candles and cabbage ware.   I love everything about that table and that room!

Happy glorious Easter Sunday to you and to all.
