They have been making recliners that look like standard upholstered chairs which would be very attractive.

Yes!  If you are going to sit and relax, or read, you need a place to put your feet up! How can you curl up on the chair unless you are really tiny. (I'm not.)

So would I, but unfortunately my bedroom is too small!

Charming, @jubilant !   I absolutely love the way they combined traditional, homespun elements with a touch of midcentury retro--  there's a certain skill to that, and they have it!

Right now I have a wide and tall  computer desk in that corner which I want to move. I will have a fairly large place to fill when that happens.  A chair that would be big enough to sleep in would be nice.

At night, I often run across the hall to DH's den and sleep in a recliner. If I could stay in my room (which is a master suite) I would not have to leave my bedroom at night to use the bathroom. DH sleeps in another bedroom due to sleep apnea and a heart condition so the master suite is all mine. Also, sometimes, me wandering from room to room wakes him up as he is a light sleeper. A corner like this could solve a lot of issues!

The chair says Doctor's Waiting Room, but I like the concept of a comfy area to read in.

I'm just not feeling it.  IMHO, it looks like flea market finds and there's really not one individual piece I like.  They're all nice pieces but this just isn't my personal style.

I have a glider chair with the matching ottoman.  Those chairs are on the smaller side so they don't take up a ton of space.  It's  not in my bedroom though, it's in my loft and faces large windows to the woods out back.  That's my reading spot most of the time, it's quite relaxing.

It 100% looks staged & like they're trying to be trendy, but it falls flat to me, and way overdone. And using tacks to put that atrocity on the wall? The wall will need major repairs when they move onto the next fad and have to take that down.

I do like the chair though (without the quilt or pillow).

I'm all in favor of cozy corners but there's really nothing here that resonates with me, least of all the chair or cabinet, both of which look culled from the garage or attic. While there's nothing wrong with a garage sale find when it's appealing, neither of these pieces are to me. The space looks sort of thrown together in my opinion. Eclectic can be good but this misses the mark.

Re: A Cozy Corner Vignette

[ Edited ]

I like the idea of a cozy corner in a bedroom, but my bedroom is too small for anything like this.

My parents had chairs just like that in our home when I was a child. The slight downward slant on the seat made it a comfortable chair for sitting. The quilt reminds me the handmade quilts my mom made from her fabric scraps.

I don't really care for the other pieces.
