Former attorney Ruth McKeaney and husband Bob took on this 1700's farmhouse, after years of renovating other once-dilapidated homes for themselves. This one is historic, having been originally deeded by William Penn!
Demonstrating the age of the property, here Ruth shows a rounded wall. She also said that the aged entry hall slopes quite a bit from side to side...
The beautiful round table ( is that what was called a "rent table"?) in the entry holds a sentimental treasure. For their 10th anniversary, her husband commissioned this sculpture of joyful kids doing ring-around-the-rosy, a symbolic representation of their own 5 children, 4 girls and a boy --
The living room is so cozy, and filled with the original art that the family loves so much--
The camera sweeps around too FAST in this video, so I had to grab shots of their paintings, on the fly!
Love the old rugs throughout the house...
The kitchen is a real, working kitchen--
I love that painting of the chef with the sunflowers in their breakfast nook!
Amish craftsmen made the wooden island--
The dining room has a fireplace, a proper swinging door, and beautiful comb back Windsor chairs.
It has a delightful, old-fashioned feeling--
The casual den is right off their living room--
....and is complete with a nice wall of built-ins....
Spacious bedroom, with snowy linens, fireplace and sofa under the window--
In this shot, I like that you can see the over-grouting on the ancient stone of the house...
They seem to enjoy and use every inch of this heritage property, but it's neat that they also kept what looks to be the ruins of an abandoned, old stone barn...
There was such a special feeling and a warmth with this house-- one that is clearly loved. It was a huge, almost backbreaking job for them, but so glad that they preserved it, perhaps for another 300 years!

Love it. So happy to see some modern art incorporated into the home; keeps it from having that "heavy" feeling. Also love the hidden window treatments. (Some you can see, and some I am assuming are there.)

This home is stunning. I love the wall paper in the dining room and the picture above the fireplace.

@Oznell An interesting tour. Thank you for sharing it.
Of course, I have to ask, what no puppy?

What a gorgeous home. They must have put a lot of work and love into it to get the outcome they wanted. I'm sure it brings them joy and happiness everyday.

Great home! I love that table in the entry. That sculpture was such a creative and thoughtful gift. Stone homes remind me of England too - love them. I like what they did with the living room, dining room and kitchen. That is quite the island - the Amish do quality work.

Someone did a wonderful job with the gas, water, sewer and electricity. Wouldn't it be fun to see how the walls were accessed?

What's amazing to me is the style of colonial homes hasn't really changed in centuries. We have several in my neighborhood that look like this, but it's just the front that is stone/brick. The rest is vinyl siding.
It's beautiful and I'm sure the redo was in high six figures! Wow to have that kind of cash flooooow 😏
