I love high ceiling rooms which have a lot of space.  As I have mentioned many times, I like elegant and formal design especially in a living and dining room.  That is my taste and always has been.  I feel you can have formal and comfort all in one.

For me the living room is most appealing.  I love the covering on the couch , the furnishings, rug, and the forest painting!  I always prefer drapes or curtains on windows for the warmth and privacy they give.  The breakfast nook is charming.  All in all for me there is more to like than not.

I find something charming in all of these pictures. I like the dining room from France a bit more because it seems to have a bit more "stuff" in the room. Thanks for sharing.

If I had to pick a room it would picture number 6 with the green chairs. I prefer a more minimalist look, and these just have too many items in them for my taste.

Re: 3 LIVING ROOMS

[ Edited ]

I find a lot to like in all of them and a few things I'd delete in all of them too. The first is probably my least favorite. I'm unsure of the sofa in the second. Would deep-six the fireplace art in the third.

I like them all.  I'm beginning to think that I'm very easy to please!

@Southern Sarah,  I think I see it the way you do-- find these classic, well-done and 'serene',  a word I overuse!  Even when quibbling with certain elements of a room, it's the overall vibe that sways me one way or the other--  and these are 'sympatico',  to me.  The first two spell comfort, as well as beauty, and the third is a bit more formal.  I see it as more of a "reception room", or place for conversation, rather than a kick-back space.  And that's fine with me.

I like:

Number one ..... but would remove the animal print table.

Number three .... but would change the painting over the fireplace.
