Re: 1930'S MUSKOKA LOG COTTAGE

[ Edited ]

I like the contrast of the white caulking against the dark wood.  When we built our log cabin I went with light wood toned caulking that matched the light pine logs.  I suppose we can always change both, but its fine for now.  I was afraid of those varnished log cabins that turn dark, dark, dark.  Very gloomy, you can still find bars and restaurants up here  (UP) with old finish.

I was hoping it had a lake view too, @haddon9 .   I'm not sure, and I could be wrong, but in the last picture of their porch with the wicker rockers, it looked like that could be the lake in the background.  It's hazy though, so hard to tell!

I like just about everything about it but the white horizontal stripes would drive me nuts.

Such a warm and cozy cottage, and one that is obviously loved by the owners. The only thing I don't like is the river pebble flooring in the bathroom. Maybe they've been smoothed out a bit, but I have them in concrete in my front walk and they are terribly uncomfortable. But a soft, cushy rug would solve that problem in a small bathroom!

Love the warmth and simplicity of the kitchen's pebbled backsplash -- brilliant idea.

It"s a cute and cozy cabin but just a tad too rustic for me.

It's very nice, but my idea of a log cabin, isn't quite this.  This has a lot of "modern" to it.

This rustic cabin is nicely styled and is warm, cozy, and inviting....
