Re: 1925 SAN FRANCISCO APARTMENT

[ Edited ]

There is a lot of stuff on display in that apartment.

Too much for my taste  I would need to edit it down considerably, and then, where would you store all the extra lamps or display pieces, little chairs and such ?

I do like the way she handled the kitchen cabinetry, allowing a dining table set that is more formal.

I, too, think that must be quite a large apartment. and with that lovely view, it must be very expensive.

I do like the Kitchen and Dining area but other than that this one is not for me.

The animal print rug is nice too.

I don't think I am a San Fran person.

Re: 1925 SAN FRANCISCO APARTMENT

The views are fantastic but have to say the colors and eclectic furniture/ decor is way too busy for me and feel its very dark. I do like the red pitchers on the mantle tho--am a pitcher collector myself. Not sure if there is a style name for it all, except it looks like an  explosion of stuff  and it all landed in this house.

Re: 1925 SAN FRANCISCO APARTMENT

I lived in the Bay Area for more than two decades so I was interested in seeing this apartment.

I've come back to this thread several times to examine the photos and find elements I like.

There are a few, but they are outnumbered by the elements I would send to landfill.

Love the kitchen, dining room and of course the view!!!

The living room has too much furniture in it for me and looks a bit crowded........I do not like paintings in the kitchen either...

Of course, the view is beautiful.  Some of the decor is nice, but it's way too crowded for me.  I prefer a more simple look.

Looks like it's set up just for picture taking - not to live comfortably in though.

For example of too much:  All the books and decorations piled on this coffee table hide the beauty of the coffee table.  Why so much piled on?

This wallpaper is much too busy for me:

This lamp is beautiful.  Too much stuff cluttered around it:

Re: 1925 SAN FRANCISCO APARTMENT

Good points, @San Antonio Gal ,  I agree with you on the last two of your examples.  Too much visually going on, for my personal taste.

In your first example, the coffee table piled with books, I partially agree.  If she just had one vase instead of two, I'd be happy.  But the 'stacks of books' look doesn't bother me-- I do like that more-is-more "library" feeling on a table, even if you might have to dump some to put down a coffee cup!

She's clearly a diehard maximalist who must have her beautiful objects all around her....
