Re: 1830 NEW ENGLAND CAPE STYLE HOUSE

Oh I love this house! I love the bookcases, the windows in the kitchen are fantastic, and the outside is just as nice-When do I get my keys? Love it!!!!! And the outdoor area doesn't disappoint either-just gorgeous!

Re: 1830 NEW ENGLAND CAPE STYLE HOUSE

New England has an abundance of these types of homes.  Many have been turned into bed and breakfasts, they are so awesome!   Being a New Englander it's easy to take these beauties for granted, thanks for the reminder !   Some of our best times were in the mountains of NH and VT skiing and snowmobiling Smiley Happy

This pretty house reminds me very much of a house we stay in in Upstate NY on Lake Ontario.

I love everything about it but if it were mine I would probably remove some of the books and put a few other things on the shelves.

Simple, light and airy, but still has such a hominess and warmth to it, inspite of light walls, etc. I like everything about this home including the outdoors. Lucky homeowners and pup.

I've always loved this house ever since it hit the Internet.  I save the pictures hoping that one day I can build something similar...probably not, but still a nice dream to have.

Here's another shot of that doggie bath, and indeed, it doesn't look like there's any easy access:

Here's hoping the homeowners have been eating their Wheaties and developing strong arms!   Would having a stool there help?

Since I only have kitties, I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of getting a large dog in a wet bathtub, ha.  I bet it would be hard to get a dog to climb a step stool or something and just plop right in!

I expect these folks have a stair or ramp hidden away somewhere for doggy access. Getting out would be even trickier, though. There's a nice Houzz article on custom dog baths.

A friend once told me, back when I DID have stronger arms and wasn't thinking ahead yet, she would only have small dogs as she aged since she could then plop them right in the kitchen sink!

@Oznell Now that's advice I've always acted upon. 😋

@Oznell   This is why I now have small dogs so I can lift them when necessary, and on bath day, it IS necessary, as they would not go in voluntarily, lol.  I am thinking there must be a door, that extravagant dog bath and no door would be rediculous.  Stairs would work for some that like water, but here it would be the same reaction as my huge previous dog had when I opened the Vet door and he looked, then spun around and headed out, lol.

Lovely, inside and out. The architectural details, spaces, and windows are very nice. There are a few furnishings and accessories I would change, but overall, a beautiful home.

Beautiful home from the outside.  I also like the inside but I noticed there are different wood floors thru out.  I do like the wide plank floors I believe it's the kitchen dining area.  All in all, it's a very nice home in and out.
