I love the way you colored this picture-especially the quilt and headboard.
I bought a coloring book of cats because I want to learn how to "make" fur using colored pencils, charcoal, graphite and Sakura erasers...there are so many techniques to learn and great tutorials on YouTube.
I am not good enough at drawing yet to draw portraits of animals and people.....but I learn so much just by coloring. It can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it.
How anybody can say this is an embarrassing waste of time is beyond me....
A little bit of history here....when color animation first came out, women were not considered intelligent or artistic enough to be animators-even though many held degrees in fine arts. Since everything was drawn and colored by hand, the men got to draw, and the women colored the individual cells. I'm sure they had no creative license of any kind that were given to them at that time, but going back to that, they had to have a vast number of skills under their belts.
The detractors can say what they want: I consider this an art form!

Love your coloring,@lolakimono! I use all kinds of pencils and markers. I have the twist up pencils and metallics and sparkly ones also the Prismacolor pencils. It's so relaxing. I have a hard time winding down at night and I can't just sit and watch TV. I have to be reading or coloring or needlepoint while the TV is on. Nice to see there are lots of us. DH can just get absorbed in TV, I can't Thanks for the interesting thread😁

This is a little Van Gogh-ish. Love it.

I posted these to FB first (since Photobucket no longer works for here) and then copied/pasted them to here. I took the photos with my cell phone.

@MoJoV, I'm the same way you are: I have to be doing something like needlework....Sounds silly, but I don't even like to color with the tv on.
I remember when I was a kiddy, we would have family movie nights-but I always wanted to do something while the movie was on. Are we strange?

@lolakimono, for as long as I have had my Kindle, I have never used the photo thingy...I also have an IPad.
I am backwards-afraid of trashing tablets....I need to call Amazon-love them! They did make good on the offer that the SOS feature for technical help will be available for the life of your product....and they are so patient!
I am thinking from there, I should be able to send a picture from either device.
From there, I guess I need directions on how to post to particular forums.
I love this topic-I would love to see more...it's so useful finding out about tools-personal style etc!

I had to go back to work, so I haven't had as much free time to color. ![]()
There was one I worked on last week but had not finished, but I'll post it when I'm done.
@LTT1 is an iPad user; perhaps she can help you with the photo instructions. Photobucket used to be the easy way. Sometimes when I try to upload on the Q boards, it says that the file is too big, but it seems to work if I can post it to FB first and then copy/paste here.

I have a nice roll up watercolor pencil set you might like. Contains about 50 pencils.
Check out * COLORARTY * and they have a website I don't dare share here! <G>
Good Luck in your color pencil Quest!

OMG! I thought you meant color your hair! I thought.....well for many, many people that's like calling all women! Ha!
Sorry, I misunderstood! I tried coloring but lost interest. I've seen colorings that are absolutely beautiful.
I have friends from high school that I keep in touch with that are amazingly talented. I always respect people who have talent of any kind.
